What is "ficha del autor"?

A "ficha del autor" is a card in which you make notes on the outstanding facts in the life of a writer; for example, date of birth and death, publications, topics they wrote about, etc. As you read the literature pieces by famous Latin American writers in this book, you will find out that a thorough understanding of such pieces depends on knowing more about the author's biography.
