Researching to Write Analytically

Perhaps you realize working on this writing assignment that you have to do for class that your analytical insights are not enough. While you have some interesting ideas, you need to first test them, in a sense, before composing an academic writing project around them. Now you’re thinking and writing like an academic, which always includes some type of research.

In the previous chapter you studied how to read texts in order to write analytically. In this chapter you will learn how to find those texts, as well as how to conduct some original research of your own.
